LECTURERS IN LAW RETIRE

Long Service Of Mr E.P. Wills

The resignations of three part-time lecturers in law at the University of Canterbury were accepted with regret by the council of the university yesterday. The three lecturers are Messrs W. G. P. Cuningham, R, H. Bowron, and E. P. Wills.

Mr Bowron had been a member of the university’s staff since 1953, and Mr CunIngham had served for 13 years said the Vice-Chancel-lor (Dr. L. L. Pownall).

Mr Wills had been a lecturer for 29 years, being appointed in 1935. and from 1952 to 1957 had been dean of the faculty of law. Professor F. R. Crane was appointed acting bead of the department of law during the absence of Professor H R. Gray overseas. Professor Gray will leave for England on November 21, and will be visiting professor at King’s College, London, for 12 montbs.
