Terminal At Christchurch
Christchurch will be the terminal for the exchange of about 1400 persons between New Zealand and Malaya next month. Men of the let Battalion, New Zealand Regiment, will be arriving from Malaya, and their replace* menu, the 2nd Battalion, wiU be leaving from Christchurch. Two DCS long-range transport aircraft of the No. 40 R.NZ.A.F. Squadron from Whenuapai will be used to take the men and their families to Changi via Brisbane and Darwin. One of the DCC’s will arrive at Christchurch Airport today with the R.N.Z.A.F.'s Mobile Air Movements section, led by Flight Lieutenant E. K. Marr. The first flight out wiU leave Christchurch Airport at 4.30 pjn. on Friday of this week, reaching Changi at 1 p.m. (New Zealand time) on Saturday. Successive flights will leave on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Fridays, until November 29.
Men from Malaya will begin to arrive in Christchurch on Monday, and on successive Tuesdays. Fridays and Mondays until December 2.
