IDLE ALONG RACING
S.I. Title To Otago Boat (N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, Oct. 28 Although the Otago boat Vanity was beaten into fifth place in the last race today, her previous successes were sufficient to maintain a points lead in the South Island Idle Along championship. Vanity was sailed by L. Campbell, G. Crossland and J. Hamilton. They gained 74 points. The runner-up was another Otago boat. Suspense, which was crewed by M. Campbell and F. Webber They finished with 65 points. The Timaru craft Clipper, with 62 points, was third Clipper was sailed by J. A. and T. Middleton.
Parade. Nearly 30,000 people gathered in Masterton streets and at the Solway Show Ground yesterday to see the final spectacle of the 1963 Golden Games—a parade of 70 floats and 23 ma roh.j np teams. —(PA.)
