SEAMAN BACK
Deported 10 Days Ago (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 2& Ten days after he had been deported from New Zeeland for stowing away, a 32-year-old seaman arrived back in Auckland yesterday in the Oronsay—again as a stowaway, the Magistrate's Court was toid today. Sergeant J. D. O'Connor said that an hour after the ship left Sydney on October 24, James Henry Larsen had been found sitting by the No. 3 hatch. He had oo money to pay for a ticket. Larsen had told the wharf police he wanted to get away from Sydney, said Sergeant O'Connor. He thought the Oronsay was going to Melbourne, his home town, and did not realise till too late that he was on his way to New Zealand again. He had a “substantial Inst” of Australian convictions. “I didn't want to come to this country. It was just unfortunate, that's all,'* said Larsen.
“It was very unfortunate," said the Magistrate. Mr W. J. Meade, S.M. He sentenced Larsen to 21 days' imprisonment, to be followed by deportation.
