Levy In Diamond Harbour (Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON. July 24 Legislation empowering the Lyttelton Borough Council to levy a sanitation fee on the Diamond Harbour area of the borough of Lyttelton is embodied in the Lyttelton Borough Empowering Bill, introduced into Parliament by Mr N E. Kirk (Opposition, Lyttelton) today. The bill was read a first tune and referred to the Local Bills Committee. The bill provides for the making of by-laws to permit the payment of an annual sanitation fee for sewerage purposes, the levy to be on all rateable property in the Diamond Harbour area. The fee will go towards the payment of interest or other charges on loans raised by the council for sewerage, drainage or water supply purposes.
