Normal Work At Auckland
(N.Z. Press AssocUUion) AUCKLAND, July 1. The Auckland waterfront was back to normal today as the result of the week-end truce between workers and the Harbour Board in the dispute over car-parking charges. Tonight waterfront workers were available for normal overtime from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m„ plus an extra hour through to 10 p.rn. if a ship could be cleared to sail in the morning.
In spite of radio broadcasts yesterday that normal overtime would resume and free parking would be available today, many of the men were not aware of the truce. Only about half of those normally take cars to work used the two car parks.
