TRAINING IN DRAMA
About 150 At Course
With the aim of startingchurch drama groups, the Christchurch Religious Drama Society held a training* day at Linwood High School on Saturday. The course was attended by about 150 persons from town and country districts. “We were very pleased with the attendance and the interest in the training day. particularly as so many young people came,” said Mirs V. B. Foxon, drama secretary of the Mothers’ Union of the Diocese of Christchurch, who organised the programme. The day began with a movement class, conducted by Miss Joan Gracie. Talks and demonstrations were given by the following:— Mesdames Pippa Vincent, Wendy de la Bere and Marjorie Brouard, Misses Isobel Provan. Jean McGregor and Mr I. Clark. Mr W. Dephoff answered questions on lighting.
Books from the society’s library and costumes used in past productions were on display.
