When The Bank Alarm Sounded
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, June 30. After a bank alarm system sounded for a few seconds at the Nelson police station on Saturday afternoon, the police found themselves unable to check. The alarm system, the radio, the telephones, and teleprinter were cut off. But' there was no wellorganised bank robbery afoot; a ditch-digger had sliced through an underground cable in Collingwood street which carried these services. Communication was restored two hours later. -
