Sewer Contract Let
The Christchurch Drainage Board has accepted the £21,161 3s 6d tender of C. L. Cox. Ltd., for the lower Sockburn-Yaldhurst sewer reticulation project. This was the lowest tender received. Other tenders received were: Smith Bros., £23,165 10s; Rush Construction Company, Ltd., £23,338 4s 7d; Canterbury Pipe Lines, Ltd.. £23,560 4s; J. C. Haworth. £23,672 8s; Kiwi Contractors. Ltd.. £24.062 17s; G. Chaffey, £24,515 3s 2d; E. O’Sullivan. £25,733 Ils; Waddell Construction, Ltd., £26.562 8s 4d; Farrier-Waimak. Ltd., £28,483 2s lOd; Jeal and Skarr. Ltd.. £32,724 10s.
More Lions Clubs. —Lions clubs in New Zealand were expected to number 90 by March, said the district governor of Lions (Mr R. L Usmar) at the charter dinner of the newly-formed Mount Roskill Club—-the sixtieth in New Zealand to receive its charter.—(P.A.)
