TECHNICIANS IN SCIENCE
Formation Of Institute (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 30 Science technicians throughout New Zealand now have an organisation to further their interests, particularly in matters of status and qualifications. Fourteen delegates met at the Dominion Physical Laboratory, Lower Hutt, on Thursday and Friday and formed the Institute of Science Technicians. The organ-isartion will embrace laboratory workers of all kinds, including those of the D.5.1.R., the universities and private industry. The delegates represented 300 prospective members and it is estimated that there are 600 potential members. One of the purposes of the new body is to co-operate with the Technicians’ Certification Authority. Membership limits will fit the authority’s levels of educational attainment.
