SPENDING ON SCHOOLS
Big Share For Country (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 30. Country schools would have a big share of the £5B million to be spent on education tl«is year, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said yesterday. Addressing about 150 people at the opening of a new primary school at Kaiparpro. six miles from Eketahuna, Mr Holyoake reaffirmed the Government's policy of providing educational opport unities for country children equal to those available for children laving in towns. "I have a tremendous appreciation of the value and needs of education —partly from my own experience and partly from the interests of my family,” he said.
His mother, two brothers and a sister were all school teachers, the Prime Minister added.
