BURGLARIES AT WEEK-END
House And Dairy
Entered The home of Mr A. W. Kibblewhite, at 39 Ilam road, was broken into between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday, and about £l2 was stolen. Mr Kibblewhite, a retired headmaster. was visiting friends nearby, and when he returned to his home he found that a glass panel in the back door had been smashed. They key had been left on the inside of the lock, and this was missing. The thief searched wardrobes and other parts of the house. Mr Kibblewhite found his wife’s purse lying on the floor of the bedroom. The money was taken from this. A neighbouring house was also ransacked, but as tar as is known nothing was stolen. A few weeks ago houses in Waimairi road were entered on a Saturday evening and money stolen. The intruder was disturbed and made off.
The dairy of Mr J. Rogal, of 113 Hills road, was broken into during the weekend and the till, containing about £4O. was stolen. The till was found in a vacant section nearby. Entry was made through the house at the rear of the shop.
