Old System Preferred
(NX. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 31. In spite of the academic qualifications required of a boy today before he can start a trade, the “end product” was not as food, Mr W. H. Cad* waUader, who retired on Friday as Auckland District Superintendent of the Labour Department, said yesterday Better tradesmen would be produced if employers were allowed to revert to the old system of taking on apprentices and teaching everything in the trade on the job, he said.
