Variety Of Dress At Twilight Trots

AU types of outfits from the low-back sunfrock to the thick, fur-swathed winter coat were seen at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s twilight meeting at Addington yesterday.

With gathered fullneea failing from the beck of the waist, the coat waa cut with full, three-quarter sleeves and without collar. Interest was added by huge wooden buttons in dark brown, toning with the black-brown of accessories. This young woman wore no hat.

Another bright picture was created by three young visitors whose coats in vivid! tomato red, mustard and nevy-whke outfits, added a weinome warm to the scene. The more unusual shades were not neglected either.

One deep plum-coloured ensemble was successfully teamed with a plain beige brimless hat. a black velvet dress was complemented by a purple, red and blue hat and red-black shoes. Other

combinations included burnt orange with black, stone grey with black, and red, and mustard with light brown. The wife of the president oi the Canterbury Park Trot, ting dub (Mrs L. S. Smart) wore a dress and jacket of pale, olive green shantung with a velvet petalled hat in autumn towings. Mire T. A. Leitch, wife of the club’s vice-president, wore a cotton shantung dress in lightly patterned shades of green with a fur stole, and light, matching brown hat. The wife of the president of the New Zeeland Metropolitan Trotting Club (Mrs J. K Davidson) wore a deep blue linen suit edged at the cuffs, pocket* and lapels in spotted blue and white.
