AMBULANCE DELAY

“No Neglect By Anyone”

(N.Z. Press Association) HAWERA, Feb. 20.

No neglect could be charged against anyone and a full investigation had shown that everything possible had been done to minimise delay when a Hawera Hospital ambulance was found to have a flat battery, Mr H. Thrush, chairman of the Hawera Hospital Board, Mid in a statement today.

Mr Thsush was commenting on an incident on January 17, when a seriously ill patient was delayed for more than an hour on a trip from Hawera Hospital to a waiting air ambulance which took him to Wellington Hospital. The paitient, who had a hemorrhage after an operation is stiU in hospital in Wellington. “I feel sure this statement will assure the public that the excellent service given by the ambulance will continue,” Mr Thrush said.
