MESSAGE TO CHILDREN

Queen To Send Greetings

Every boy and girl in New Zealand will receive a personal message from the Queen. Announcing this when he officially opened the Westbum school, the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent) said that before the Queen left New Zealand she was asked if she would care to send a personal message to the boys and girls of this country. The Queen said she would be delighted to do so.

Mr Tennent said he was not quite sure when the message would be received, but it would be fairly soon. Mr Tennent said that as he was saying goodbye, the Duke of Edinburgh said to him: “You have a fine lot of healthy boys and girls in New Zealand.”
