Fleece Wools Easier At Invercargill Sale

INVERCARGILL, Feb. 20. The market for fleece wools could be quoted as being up to 2} per cent cheaper than at the Christchurch sale, with oddments in buyers’ favour, says the official report issued after selling was completed on the first day of the Invercargill wool sale today. Lambs’ wool. although erratic, was holding firm, says the report, issued by brokers, buyers and the wool commission. Three catalogues, consisting of 23,000 bales were offered in the Civic Theatre to a full bench of buyers. Bidding was brisk and passings were The bulk of the offering was made up of fleece wool with the usual number of oddments. There was a fair quantity of lambs’ wool; but the selection of" woolly hoggets was small. Continental buyers took the bulk of the offering, with Britain giving fair support on top-making sorts and United States buyers on coarse descriptions.
