Birds And Building

Sir, —Your article about the duck interrupting building, reminds me of the “Robin Pillar," in the beautiful Christchurch Cathedral in Victoria, British Columbia. While the cathedral was being built, a determined little robin built her nest hard by the capital of the south-eas-tern pillar of the nave. Building operations were suspended at that point until her family had been launched into the world. A stone model of the bird on her nest marks the spot.— Yours, etc, (Mrs) MARY DAVIS MOODY, September 29, 1962.
