RACING Julloch Succeeds Again In Main Westport Race

(from Ovr Own Reporter) WESTPORT, October 1. Orari-trained Julloch scored his second success at the meeting when he won the C. E. Craig Handicap, feature event on the second day of the Westport Jockey Club’s fixture today. Julloch won going away by a length and a half from Gabelle. Suited by the heavy trade conditions, Master Conclusion scored a good win in the Dalray Hack Handicap to complete an off-course double worth £24 Ils 6d for £l.

The on-couree double, Jules and Lola, paod £5 3s 6d tor £l. Heavy rain fell during the meeting and the track was heevy. There was a fair attendance. On - course investments totalled £ 11,880 10s, including £1706 on double*, compared w.tti £13363 last year. The tool tor tbe meeting wes £36,903 compared with £28,875 last year. The hot favourite, Juitoch, overcame a slow start to win the C. X Craig Handicap running away by a length and a half. Brotv.l Watch and Gabelle began best and Julloch was slow. At the six. Coral Chief led from Gabelle, Brown Watch and My Fair Lady. Corel Chief was still in front at the five from White Skies, wnich bad improved quickly. He was followed by GtibeEe. Brown Watch and Julloch White Skies led into tbe straight from Coral Chiqf and Juitoch. Julloch bad his rivads mastered at the furlong and drew out to win with ease. Gabelle came home well for second a length and a half back. White Skies was a similar distance away third. He lasted for that place by a nose from Sdlverwood. My Fair Lady was fifth, then same Corad Chaef, Brown Watch, Queen of Sheba and tips and Downs. Mud-lark Succeeds Bevellire in the mud. Master Conclusion ran out a decisive winner in the Dalray Hack Handicap. He made ground at the two furlong, and once in the lead was, never heeded. Redstan and Red Skies began well but Tlmatan quickly went ahead At the mile he led from Master Conclusion, Red Skies and Redstan.

Begame ran to the front at the half-mile from Timitan. Master Conclusion and Red Skies. Master Conclusion made a run at the two and led into the

Joie, Again Greymouth - trained Jules gained its second success of the meeting in the J. H. Powell Stakes No. 1. for which he was favourite. Jules led for most of the race and was a length clear of Llandex at the finish. Queen Panair was slow away. Suoair and Llandex got out best but Jules quickly gained the lead. At the five furlong* he was dear of Subair. Prince Callan and Coral Lagoon. Llandex moved out to challenge Jules early in the run home, but could not bridge the gap. Lucky View finished fast for third half a head behind Llandex. There was a length

and a half then to Prince Callan which was followed by Coral Lagoon and Subair. Diamond Princes, was iast. Lota’s Third Uta Lota scored her third success at tbe meeting when ahe easily won the Douglas Hack Handicap. Sne came through at the five turlongs and was not Brokette got out well, but Totara Lsua was alow. Sigurd and Brokette led to the five furlongs where Lola moved mrougn on Ute inside. Lola led oy a length from Mystic at the hallmu*. with Howe Good and Brokette following. Lota led into the straight, with Totara Lass making a run wide out. Detadana and Kenmore began well aad led from Baywyn and Lota. Kenmore led at the half-mile from Baywyn. with Lola moving up. At the three furlonga Kenmore was still in control, from Glissader, Begame. Lola and Rising Storm. In the straight Bavwyn took over. Lota made a great run. but Baywyn held on. Two lengths away Kenmore was third. Sigurd waa five lengths back fourth, followed by Glissader and Rising Storm. Detadana and Harewood were last. Results;— J. H.
