WARNING TO AUSTRALIA
‘lmprove To Beat Kiwis’ (N.Z. Press Asrn—CopyripM) SYDNEY. August 16. New Zealand’s football standard now waa a lot stronger than when its last team visited Australia in 1959. the chairman of Ute Australian Rugbv League Board of Control (Mr W. Buckley) said today. After hts return front the International Board meeting in Auckland, he warned that Australia', player* would have to improve to beat the Kiwis next season. Mr Buckley said that New Zealand would find Australia harder to beat than Britain because of a greater similarity in style of play. "Australia and New Zealand play much the same type of football and the Kiwis are not so much bigger in the forwards than Britain were this year,” he said.
’’But while the Kiwis played well against Britain, they will play even better on firm grounds in Australia.” He added that League attendances in New Zealand were good and the administration of the code there was at a veryhigh level of efficiency.
