The Press FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 1962. Royal Visitors
The news that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will visit New Zealand early next year before going to Australia will be received with great pleasure throughout the country. New Zealanders will count themselves fortunate indeed to have Her Majesty and her husband here again; their visit will evoke demonstrations of loyalty, respect and affection similar to those during the memorable tour in 1953-54. A visit of no
more than a fortnight necessarily means that the itinerary will include fewer places than that of nine years ago. Special care will be necessary in planning their visit to make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible for the Queen. New Zealanders will wait eagerly for details of the itinerary and of the means of travel Pleasure at having the Queen and her husband among us again would be increased if they were accompanied by one or more of their children.
