A 70-year-old man driving a 1939 model car passed an oncoming car at about 45 miles an hour on a one-way Bailey bridge near Palmerston North, a traffic officer said in the Magistrate’s Court. The combined width of the two cans was 10ft 6in and the bridge had only lift useable road sipace. The two vehicles passed each other without touching.
