NO ACTION BY UNION
Consultations With F.O.L.
The Christchurch Fire Brigadesmen’s Union will not take any action on its own account over the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board’s decision not to alter the sleeping accommodation for single men at the new fire station, said the secretary of the union (Mr G. G. Walker) yesterday. He said that the situation at present was that all the proposals submitted to the special meeting of the board were made by the district council of the Federation of Labour.
He said any further moves by the union would be made with the Federation of Labour.
The federation would not take any further action until representations were made by the Fire Brigadesmen’s Union, said Mr F. L. Langley, president of the district council of the federation.
