FELLOWSHIP FOR STUDY IN U.S.

Woman Doctor From City

Dr. Patricia Clarkson, formerly of Christchurch and now medical registrar at Napier Hospital, will take up a fellowship in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. next January. She expects to be there about three years.

An old girl of Dominican College, Teschemakers, Dr. Clarkson graduated from Otago University Medical School in 1957. She took up a position as house surgeon at Napier in 1958, and was appointed medical registrar in 1960.

In Napier, Dr. Clarkson has been associated with the Hawke's Bay Medical Research Foundation, and hopes to gain further research experience in America. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs W. P. Clarkson, of Christchurch.
