(N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON. June 19. Boarders and staff at Masterton's Hadlow Preparatory School last night went without their tea as a means of encouraging support for the freedom from hunger campaign. AU the boys had was a cup of cocoa and biscuit before retiring. The masters had coffee and a biscuit. The principal. Mr J. K. Louisson. said the boys had decided to go without their meal as a means of gaining a slight idea of what hunger meant. The school had estimated the saving made by not cooking the evening meal and had given this sum to the campaign. On Sunday the boarders had worked in the school garden on a “bob-a-job-basis, and all had given their earnings to the campaign.
