Maruia Springs Baths
Sir, —Being one of a party of six adults who made a special trip to Maruia Springs at Easter to have a private sulphur bath, I was most annoyed to find, as in the past, that these private baths are non-existent. The excuse from the management that there was just no time to start the pumps left us speechless. Speaking to some campers, we found the baths had not been in use during the holiday period and that it was almost impossible to get into the pool owing to dozens of small unruly children in complete possession. It was certainly so when we vizsi'ted it, for we were met with a cascade of water at the door. What is the Health Department doing to permit such bad management of such a wonderful amenity? And who pays what and where? No-one paid as far as I could see, only the already overburdened.—Yours, etc.. TAXPAYER.
