Buller By-Election

Sir,—“B. Constant” is trying to imply that the ready Bale of art union tickets is a sign ot prosperity in this country or any country; he could be wrong. In what century did England outlaw lotteries and why did it have to be done?—Yours, etc., HIGHWAYMAN. June 19. 1962.

Sir, —When I was in my teens I asked my father w’hy he never voted Labour. His answer was: "Because your mates are the ones that let you down.” Apparently Mr Nordmeyer is just finding this out and so will Mr Palmer. Tom Bryce and others if and when it suits the; Labour Party. It looks as if they are going to lose the best politician they have ever had. It would appear that ability, guts and honesty are things of the past, only votes count. —Yours, etc.. INTERESTED. June 18, 1962.
