Women’s Shoes
Sir,—lt appears that women prefer shoes which are designed so daintily, and therefore flimsily, that they last only a fraction of the duration of men’s shoes. But why are the prices of the former s ill usually greater than those of the latter? Perhaps a representative of the shoe manufacturing trade would attempt to explain this. — Yours, etc., J. G. WOOLzLASTON.
June 5, 1962. [The Canterbury footwear manufacturers’ trade group had no comment to make on this letter.]
