Facilities For Union

Press Association) HASTINGS, June 19

Four members of the Exclusive Brethren sect were charged in the Hastings Court today with failing to give reasonable facilities to union representatives to visit workers employed in industry. None of the four men appeared. They are Alan Henry Cornes, Gordon Cornes, Gilbert Ivan Smith, and Lewis Ralph Smith, all of Hastings. Mr B. G. Crossman appeared for the first two and Mr J. H. Holderness for the others. Mr Grossman asked for an adjournment until July 24 He said the Labour Department had brought charges against members of the Exclusive Brethren and he asked for an adjournment until a senior counsel could be procured from outside the district to represent them. The adjournment was granted.
