TEAMS FOR HASTINGS
Action Packed Travels
"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, June 19. Action Packed, Firenze, and Miss Halo, from G. G. Cameron’s stable, and Gershwin, Lametta, and Alarmist, which are trained by G. W. B. Greene, travelled today from Takanini to Hastings where they are to compete on the first day of the Hawke’s BayJockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. It is probable that Gershwin and Lametta, the flat runners in Greene s team, will be ridden by I. Medcalfe. R. J. Jury will be on Action Packed, and it is hoped that J. T. Anderson or K. Cullen will be secured for Firenze. The decision to take Firenze south was made after he had already been accepted for at the Bay of Plenty meeting at Tauranga on Saturday. After a spell of three months, R. G. Forbes resumed riding at Takanini today. He first took the mount on Craddock for light work and tried himself on two or three others. Forbes was hurt in a race fall at Paeroa on March 28 After a time in hospital he had quite a long convalesence and it seem s as though he has made an excellent recovery. He is hopeful of being able to take a couple of mounts on the first day of the Avondale meeting on June 30.
