Boxing D. Murphy Wins At Dunedin

The New Zealand lightweight boxing champion. D. Murphy, at Christchurch, beat D. Scoles, of Dunedin, by a technical knock-out in the second round of a preliminary bout to the professional contest between P. McNally (Dunedin) imd J. Lawrence (Invercargill) at Dunedin on Monday evening. McNally outpointed Lawrence over 10 rounds.

Another Christchurch amateur. C. Nye. was beaten by L. McCombs, of Dunedin, in a bantam-weight contest. The bout was stopped In the second round after Nye hod received a bad cut above the eye.

Facial Injuries—Mr A. Wellbome. of 55 Glenroy street. Woolston, suffered facial abrasions when he fell from his motor-scooter at the comer of Ferry road and Richardson terrace about 8.40 a.m yesterday. After treatment at Christchurch Hospital he was allowed to go home.
