The Lord’s Day Observ. a nee Society yesterday attacked Princess Margaret and a bishop for attending • late-night jazz party which continued well into Sunday morning. A "society spokesman quoted by the “Daily Express” said: "The incident is typical of the spiritual sickness that is attacking the Church and State in Britain today.” At the party—«n Bath, Somerset—the Bishop of Bath and Wells, the Right Rev. E. B. Henderson, and a Conservative member of Parliament, Sir Edward Leather, tried their hands at the tomtoms.
The society spokesman said; “We are disgusted at a member of the Royal Family and at a member of the Bench of Bishops spending the Lord's Day to this fashion. They should have set a better example.” The party, held at Widcom'be Manor, Bath, went till 5 am. yesterday and the Princess and Lord Snowdon caught the 9.30 a.m. train to London.
