NEW SEWAGE PLANT
Only organised groups will be permitted to visit the new sewage purification works a-t Bromely in the meantime, the Christchurch Drainage Board decided last evening, pending the official opening of the plant in October. It also decided that children under the age of 14 should not be admitted. The sewage treatment engineer (Mr D. L. Steven), reporting on the plant, which was handed over to the board for operation on May 16. said there had been no major breakdowns or hold-ups in the plant.
