Press Assn.—Copyright) BRISBANE, June 17 Refulgent, the favourite for the Tattersalls Cup at Eagle Farm, was withdrawn from the race a few minutes before the start yesterday by order of the stewards. Refulgent was bleeding from a nostril, He was brought back to the enclosure from the start. After a veterinary examination. the stewards ordered his withdrawal. Most of the field, but. not Refulgent, were in the stalls when the horse’s condition was drawn to the attention of the starter. Mr W. Hill, by the horse’s jockey N Stephens, The Victorian stayer. Dhaulagiri (7'2) won the cun with a devastating run Kamikaze (14/D was second, with Oreka '7'2> third Beautifully handled bv G •Lane. Dhaulagiri came with a great burst from ixth olace at the turn to win bv a length. The New Zealand Cup winner. Oreka. which had only three horses behind him at the half-mile, was half a length behind Dhaulagiri’s time of 2min BMisec was only seven-tenths of a second outside Bindana’s Australian Ifii-s-furlong record. The Melbourne sprinter, Samson, ran a grand trial today for the Doomben Ten Thousand by winning the Healev Stakes Samson <7'2> ’Cored by a head from Ketchun <9 21. with Aquanita <6'D a length wav tir'd Fine and Dandy the favourite at 7/4. was a length farther back fourth Ketchup pulled un lame in the near foreleg His rider. G Moore, said he thought the horse must have hit a nerve when challenging Samson.
