McARTHUR, County Engineer 9128 IN THE MATTER of a proposed Bill intituled the "LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD LOAN AND EMPOWERING BILL, 1962.” PURSUANT to the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives. 1951. relating to Local Bills, the Lyttelton Harbour Board HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that application will be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at the present Session for leave to introduce a Bill intituled the Lyttelton Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Bill. 1962. The objects of the Bill are as follows: 1. To empower the Lyttelton Harbour Board to modernise wharves Numbers 3. 6 and 7 by widening same and erecting transit sheds thereon, and carry out works Incidental thereto and carry out extensions to the Oil Wharf. 2. Tx> empower the Lyttelton Harbour Board to construct a harbour for small craft. 3. To empower the Lyttelton Harbour Board to provide specialised meat loading equipment. 4. To empower the Lyttelton Harbour Board to borrow an amount not exceeding £2,500,000 for the foregoing harbour works. 5. To vest certain land In the Lyttelton Harbour Board and to vest certain land in the Lyttelton Borough Council. 6. To amend the Lyttelton Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act, 1955. by empowering the Board to borrow the sum of £1,113,000 in addition to the sum of £3,550,000 authorised by the Lyttelton Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act, 1955. 7. To further amend the Lyttelton Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act, 1955, by providing that compensation payable for land acquired for harbour works shall be determined in the manner laid down by the Public Works Act. 1928. NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that copies of the abovementioned proposed Bill, together with plans and statements relating thereto, are deposited in the Magistrate’s Courts at Christchurch and Lyttelton and at the offices of the Lyttelton Harbour Board at 297 Madras street, Christchurch, and Norwich quay.
