GIRL SLIPS ON EGMONT

200 ft Fall

(N.Z. Press Association)

N. PLYMOUTH, June 17. An 18-year-old Auckland girl missed her footing on the razor back, high above the north Egmont chalet, and tumbled 200 feet to 300 fee* into the Ngatoro Valley on Saturday.

Three would-be rescuers also lost their grips on the steep, frozen valley sides and slid to the bottom.

The girl. Miss Marian Thomson, a daughter of Dr. Margaret Thomson, of 124 St. Helier's Bay road, Auckland, was admitted to the New Plymouth hospital with extensive bruises and abrasions and is remaining there under observation. The three men who went to her help all suffered minor outs.
