TELEVISION LICENCES
6116 Held In City (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 17. A total of 29,653 television licences—a new peak—had been issued in New Zealand by the week ended June 8. the Post Office reports. Licences are distributed as follows: Auckland. 17.068 Christchurch. 6116 Wellington. 5238 The advent of writer has* contributed to the growth of viewers If their numbers continue growing at the present rate, the extra fillip television will undoubtedly be given after the Dunedin service opens about the end of this month could put the number of licences up to about 35,000 by the end .of September—provided there are enough sets to go round.
