MATERNITY SERVICES
Housewife On Committee (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 14. A Wellington housewife, Mrs J. S. Stacey, has been appointed to the Board of Health’s maternity services committee to represent the interests of New Zealand mothers.
A former nurse, she was nominated by the National Council of Women and will attend her first meeting of the committee on Friday. Announcing this today, the Minister of Health (Mr McKay) said he was sure the work of the committee would benefit from Mrs Stacey’s contribution.
Mr McKay said the committee, while essentially a technical one, stated at its formation that it was prepared to receive representations from groups such as mothers’ organisations.
Combined Organisation.— The Carriers’ Federation and the Road Transport Alliance will hold a combined conference soon as a first step towards the formation of a single organisation. Delegates of both bodies decided this at a meeting in Auckland (PA)
