Mothers’ Union Of St. Matthew’s
Officers elected at the annual meeting of the St. Matthews’ branch of the Mothers’ Union were:—Enrolling member. Mrs R. J Robertson; vice-oresidents. Mesdames J. A. Wright, W W. Palmer; secretary, Mrs W D. Wood; treasurer. Mrs R A. Smith; librarian, Mrs A. F Hearne; assistant librarian. Mrs C. D. Baily; committee Mesdames J. W, Lincoln, M V. Vale. 3 T. Roberts. N Riddle, D. Marks. B. Anderson, J. W Jackson, O. E Hely. L Chapman. The retiring enrolling member. Mrs C. F Truscott, was thanked by the vicar (the Rev. C. L Dobbs) for her ‘‘unselfish leadership” during the last nine years in borh Young Wives and Mothers’ Union groups. She was presented with a gift on behalf of members by Mrs W F. Riley.
The importance of the forthcoming Christian family year, arranged by the Mothers’ Union from its headquarters in England, was outlined by Mr Dotbs This programme would throw a greater apottdgtrt on the Church, he said. #
