Ancient Yew Tree Felled

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, March 14.

A yew tree in a churchyard at Diffield, near Derby, which reputedly was one of the few survivors of hundreds planted in Britain on the orders of Edward HI to provide bows for toe bowmen of England, has been felled following gale damage. The stump will be preserved.
