Cricket TEAM FOR N.Z. TOUR

New Players Named

The final composition of R. A. Robert’s Commonwealth cricket team for the New Zealand section of its world tour was announced last night by the secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council (Mr R. G. Knowles). Players not named in the original list released late last month are T. Goddard, the former South African allrounder, who now lives in England: H. W. Stephenson, the Somerset captain and wicket-keeper: D. Ford, the New South Wales wicketkeeper; and I. Meckiff. the former Australian left-arm fast bowler.

R. N. Harvey, the Australian left-hand batsman, may also visit New Zealand with the team.

The side will play three matches in New Zealand, starting on March 16 at Christchurch. The other games are at Wellington and Auckland.

The players to visit the Dominion are:—R. Benaud. captain. I. D. Craig, R Simpson, I. Meckiff. D Ford (all of Australia). E. D. Weekes. vice-captain. K. T Ramadhiin (West Indies), T. W. Graveney, H. J. Rhodes. H. W. Stephenson (England), N. A. T. Adcock. R. A. McLean (South Africa), R. E Marshall (West Indies and Hampshire) and T. W. Goddard.
