New Block For Hospital
Tenders are about to be called for a maintenance block for the Princess Margaret Hospital, the secretary of the North Canterbury Hospital Board (Mr J. G. Laurenson) announced yesterday. Authority for this had just been received, he said. The block, which will be to the rear of the main hospital building, behind the loading ramp for the basement, will include workshops for fitters, carpenters, electricians, and other board employees. It will also provide for the garaging of the board's vehicles kept at the hospital, and will house the stand-by generating set now on order from overseas.
