Gift Made To Auckland ( N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Feb. 20. The new Tiri Tiri light of about seven million candle power may be in operation within 18 months, according to Mr K. C. Sutton-Jones, a representative of the English firm of Stone-Chance. Ltd. Sir Ernest Davis, who has been a member of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron since 1891 and who has owned a boat for 70 years, is presenting the light to the city of Auckland. He hopes it will be “the finest navigational light in the world”

Mr Sutton-Jones said his company was at present preparing the details of the light for submission to ‘he Marine Department and Ministry of Works for their investigation and approval.
