I The Canterbury Athletic | Centre's officials have announced that R. G Ball ill (compete in the New Zealand decathlon, and Misses L. Anderson and L. Curtis in the pentathlon. These events will be held in conjunction with the New Zealand junior athletic championships in Invercargill next month. Selections for the Canterbury team to contest the junior events are:— 100yds: J. Geoghegan, R Woolhouse, D. Joyce. 220yds: J. Geoghegan. P. Black, D. Joyce. 440yds: P. Taylor. D Fairlie. 880yds: P. Hewlett, B. Milne. W Slinn. Mile: P Hewlett, B. Cattermole. Three miles: K. Connell, R. Reekie. 120yds hurdles: M. Walls. 220yds 'hurdles: M. Walls. 10.000 [metres road walk: R. Chadi derton. High jump: M. W’alls. Long jump: P. Black, K. Simipson, R. Woolhouse Polt vault: D. Pellowe (if not claimed by Otago). Hop, step and jump: K. Simpson. Shot: T. Freeman. Discus: T. Freeman Javelin: M. Stewart, D Wightman. Hammer: G. Fullerton, G. Grant. Four by 110yds relay: J Geoghegan. R Woolhouse. D Joyce. M. Walls: reserves, P Taylor, P. Black:. Four by 440yds relay: P. Taylor, B Milne, D Joyce W. Slinn; reserve, D. Fairlie.
