(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Feb. 11. The former New Zealand representative, J. E. F. Beck, scored a magnificent 107 in Wellington dub cricket yesterday. His innings ensured Karori receiving three bonus points on the first day against Midland and close the gap on the competition leaders, Kilbirnle. Scores were: Varsity 177 for 6 declared (R. A. Vance 81) v. Kilbirnie 113 for 6. Karori 248 (J. E. F. Beck) 107, W. M. Loewenthal 53; E. J. Sigley 6 for 101) v. Midlands 136 (W. F. Smith 5 for 46). Wellington College Old Boys 298 for 7 declared (A. B. McCallum 83. C. W. Deacon 57 not out) v. St. Patrick’s Old Boys 125 for 2 (G. K. Mahoney 67).
