NEW YORK, Feb. 7. The United Nations was the hope for existence of the small nations of the world. the Congolese Prime Minister (Mr Cyrille Adoula) said yesterday. He was speaking at a reception given by the Secre-tary-General of the United Nations (U Thant) ait the New York headquarters of the organisation. Mr Adoula pledged Congo’s understanding for the United Nations and its moral support, as that was all the Congo had to offer, United Press International reported. “It is essential for the United Nations to enjoy our fullest support,” he said.
“The great Powers, which have great capabilities and which are actually the cornerstone of our organisation, should give their fullest support to the organisation and we, the small and young nations, should be able to find in the United Nations the hope for our own existence so that all of us being united, the United Nations could truly serve as the guardian of peace. “You may count on the
fullest understanding of the Congolese Government and people and also oh our moral support, since this is all we have got,” Mr Adoula said.
Psychiatrist Dies (N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) NEW YORK, Feb. 7. Dr. Edmund Bergler, a world-renowned psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, died last night at Mount Sinai Hospital. He had a heart attack in his home last Thursday. He was 61, United Press International reported. Dr. Bergler’s fame in the psychiatric world was both as a theoretician and clinician. His major contribution was the concept that there was but one basic neurosis, which was the outcome of unavoidable infantile misconceptions of reality.
He also was one of the chief scientific challengers of the late Dr. Alfred Kinsey’s statistically based theories on sex.
