PRODUCTS OF FORESTS
Laboratory For Research (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Feb. 2. The Minister of Forests (Mr Gerard) will discuss with officials of the timber industry plans to build a forest products research laboratory at the Forest Research Institute. Whakarewarewa. The proposed discussions are seen as the first steps towards securing permanent buildings at the institute. Mr Gerard announced this following his visit to the F.R.I. on Wednesday. A possible source of finance for the laboratory could be the Timber Workers’ Housing Pool account —believed to be close to £150.000.
