WOMEN’S GAMES Fine Effort By P. Blackler
The feature ot the Canterbury Women's Cricket Association matches on Saturday, was the fine al l-round effort of P. Blackler. who took five St Albans wickets tor 28, and held her team together when a collapse seemed Inevitable. Results were:—
St. Albans II v. Mai Moa Mad Moa just managed to beat St. Albans n on the first innings, after batting tor most of the afternoon. The St Albans total at 127 was passed shortly before stumps were drawn. J. Dickinson top scored tor st. Albans with 58; M. Lawson, with two wickets for three runs, and L. Motz. with three tor 37. were the best of the Mai Moa attack. Technical v. Beckenham
The competition leaders Technical, were held to a draw by Beckenham. Technical declared with five wickets down for 164. with P. Moore, M. Hobson, and J. Goddard all making respectable scores. Beckenham, in reply were 112 for six at stumps. St. Albans 111 V. St. Albans I When P. Bladder took three wickets in her third over, the number three team collapsed sensationally to be all out for 61. Miss Bladder finished with the -excellent figures of five for 28. K Wilkinson also bowled well to take four for six. Slow to start, the number one side managed to reach 74. largely because of the fine innings of Miss Bladder She scored 32 not out, to put the issue beyond doubt. A. Colville (three for 10). and L. McKinnon (three for 26) bowled well for the number three team.
