CURRENT NOTES
Garden Circle.—The annua! meeting of the Canterbury Women’s Club garden circle was held recently when Mrs C. G. Manhire was re-elected director. The circle presented a gift of teapots and jugs to the club. Mrs Cara Cogswell sang a bracket of songs, accompanied by Mrs M. Mason. Prizes won during the year were presented as follows: Gladioli, Mrs G. Finney; daffodils, Mrs’L; Corkill; chrysanthemums, dahlias and rose, Mrs J. Roud; decorative (Erasmuson Cup), Mrs J. Roud; Denise Watson Cup. Mirs L. V. Gain; most points for all classes (Mrs S. East’s Trophy), Mrs J. Roud; posy bowl competition, Mirs E. Seward; spray, Mrs J. Roud.
