SECOND STORM

Hurricane In Atlantic

(NJ. Press Asen.—Copyright) MIAMI, September 11. The tropical storm “Debbie," spawned in the eastern Atlantic, grew into a fullblown hurricane last night, with winds of 85 miles an hour. The Weather Bureau at San Juan, Puerto Rico, said reports from ships and information from the Tiros 111 weather satellite indicated that the disturbance had grown to hurricane proportions. Photographs from the orbiting satellite pinpointed the centre of the storm about 1400 miles east-north-east of San Juan. The hurricane was moving north-west at 14 miles an hour. It was expected to continue on a north-westerly Course at about the same speed for the next 12 hours, the Weather Bureau said.
